I helped design the canopy for the Vampire Trainer while working at the DH plant at Christchurch, Hants, England.
I then went on to re-design the canopy for the production DH 110 Sea Vixen but emigrated in March 1956 to Canada before it's first flight.

Hello Bill !There is a realy creepy ghost story ( should that be GOBLIN story haha! ) called " the shepherd" that involves a single seat Vampire( jet ) and a specteral Mossie. Can't for the life of me remember the author. Something Forsyth ? ( No, not Bruce !)

I am sure we had one of these in the 1950's with single seater Vampires on 26sqd Germany. They were all replaced with the SABRE JET in 1953, and these aircraft were the first I heard to go through the sound barrier RAF Oldenburg
