The Antares 1/72 Henschel Hs 130 E V3 prototype is now available! Just received my kit yesterday.

Peter, e-mail, 16.04.2012 03:52

Oh, and there were only about 5 planes of this type. Very effecive against masses tanks, huh?
These were planes of the E-Series with DB 605 T. Daimler Benz had massive problems getting their high altitude engine ready. The JuMo 222 had the same problem. So the whole project was cancelled.
Like many others.

Peter, e-mail, 16.04.2012 03:43

The Henschel Hs 130 was planned and designed to be a high altitude bomber. And nothing else! Where do you guys get your informations?
It was the Henschel Hs 129 which was desigend as a "Schlachtflieger" and was equipped with sevearl anti tank weapons! You could say, it was the Grandpa of the A -10.

Peter from Germany

I don't know, but it is likely the aircraft was designed for high altitude recce, but later plans were made to use it as a tank-buster, as the German war machine got very desperate. Such as when they used He-177s in low-level bombing of tank columns.

dawang, 20.06.2011 11:02

NO, THEY WERE PLANNED TO CARRY 37MM ANTI-TANK GUN FOR THE JOB FOR TANK BUSTING.

bombardier, e-mail, 10.06.2011 17:38

The plane was a great bomber. But I don't think it would have been used for tank-busting

swilgus, e-mail, 02.10.2010 22:03

look to antares, com for a 1/72 scale version of this plane: the Germans were building 26-28 DIFFERENT a/c at the end of the war; so dissipating the anemic supply and demand system that failure was the only option.

Pater, 16.11.2008 13:06

Tank-busting at 15500m altitude...
