David B. Thurston and four other designers founded this company in 1946 to produce the C-1 Skimmer two/threeseat single-engined amphibian. First flown July 17,1948, certificated 1955, but first major model produced in 1957 (four-seat C-2 Skimmer IV). Manufacturing rights sold October 1959 to Lake Aircraft Corporation (after 1962 the Lake Aircraft Division of Consolidated Aeronautics Inc.). See also Lake Aircraft. Back to the letter C
