I have the prop of Commander Downey's Meyers in my den. He and my dad, Bud Willson rebuilt it in our basement in Clarendon Hills in the '60's. I used to ride my bike to Hindsale Airport and polish the fuselage for rides. How I have the prop, is another story.

Currently have the OTW N34322 that was my father's. I'm managing his estate and am looking to see if anyone has interest in buying this beautiful bird. Still have current annual and this baby starts right up; just needs someone to enjoy it as much as my dad did.

I got a short hop in a Meyers in 2007 at a fly-in at the Old Kingsbury Aerodrome of the Vintage Aircraft Historical Foundation. I was told it was one of three and was "drafted" by the USAAC in WW2 for trainer duty. Their webpage has pix of it and I can supply some jpgs too. If you want them email me at wolfbear@gvtc.com

TWO otw CHASING AROUND EACH OTHER IN FRONT OF HANGAR #1m at 2-300 feet !Our machime was sold, and currently owned by a gent, in UPSTATE ny. We had a Kinner R-56, converted back to R-55, cleaner operations from leaky rocker boxes.

I owned serial #26490 in 1951-1952. I installed a new engine in it in 1951. Am now 80 years old and have fond memories of my flying time in the Myers OTW.

There is an OTW Meyers, #26490, just like that airplane still certified for flight in Maryland. It was sold to a civilian in early 1941 and taken over by the Navy for a trainer late that year. I can send you some photos.
