TORBJÖRN KAMPE, e-mail, 07.06.2015 17:53 A wonderful flying machine of the United States. But a hell of Arabs and Muslims. A great variation of the old F / A-18. Had I been a pilot on this flight plan, I would be enemies big nightmare. reply | Rene Rosales, e-mail, 31.10.2009 01:17 While I can't wait for our Australian friends to get the F-35 which will bring a step-change in A2A capability, Troyz really doesn't understand the new Super Hornet. It's not as fast as some of older jets like the F-16 and F-15. However, its advanced flight control system, in combination with unusual lift characteristics from its LERX's give it uncanny maneuverability and authority through a high AOA range - that beats the F-15 and F-16 in those respects. In turn this gives the Super Hornet (called the Rhino by US carrier pilots) the ability to point the jet faster to get the shot in the WVR fight. Plus its advanced APG-72 AESA radar gives it unmatched situational awareness. It also has some stealth features designed into the airframe. It's no Raptor or F-35 but it's still considered a 4+ generation jet that will go up against other 4+ gen jets like the SU30, MiG29OVT, Rafale, and the latest F-16's. Don't underestimate this jet. It's not the fastest, doesn't have super long range, but the other advantages the Super Hornet has will win fights against these advanced planes. reply | Chaiwat Kosatanakom, e-mail, 12.10.2009 16:53 You can experience a new invention of airplane models, please visit this link:

There are hundred of paper aircraft models to be exhibited! reply | Effron, e-mail, 25.08.2009 06:25 Hey there, Boeing makes the best airliners! Although they are standing in the way of plans for revolutionary "taxi-liner" small jet service by lobbying for gov't money only for large airports. Yeh burn Boeing burn!!! reply |
| chaiwat kosatanakom, e-mail, 12.08.2009 05:36 We enjoys the super hornet in paper which your people should come and visit RTAF museum fore free test of assembly paper models. reply | leo rudnicki, e-mail, 07.04.2009 19:14 Super Hornet is a stopgap due to the total failure and associated scandal of the stealth Avenger II. With regard to ACM and the F111, it's called "target' There is no rear vis in the traditional attack cone. What really bothers me is the Mach 3 Razor which uses a Hornet on its advertising.why don't they call it "the Mach 1.8 Razor"? reply | Mike Raines, e-mail, 22.11.2008 12:06 Calm down mate! The F111 is a great delivery platform but a terrible ACM platform, even with full extension of the wings (which would be too high in high G turns.) The new Hornets suffer from the USN's propensity to make their fighter /attack aircraft do too much and be truly effective at either task. As to going against communist aircraft, your F111 could not last more than a few seconds in an ACM environment against the new vectored thrust aircraft. During the 1970's the USAF would allow some ACM with the F4 units. The F111's were greased every time. You need to calm down and get educated on aircraft capabilities, and maybe talk to some of the pilots. By the way, I talked to a USMC Harrier driver who "shot down" USN ace Duke Cunningham in mock battle using vectored thrust back in 1973 flying the old AV8A model. Even though this did portend the future it still comes down to ability and who sees whom first. Good on ya! reply | Troy, e-mail, 16.06.2008 15:44 The Super Hornet is nothing but an upsized Hornet (a very capable aircraft, for sure, but now obselete by today's standards), based on a 30+ year old air frame supposedly capable of dealing with the lastest Sukhois!!! Ha Ha!! The Australian Air Force (RAAF), well actually not the RAAF, but idiotic bureaucrats have decided the Super Hornet should replace the F-111!!!!! While the F-111 is alot older than the Super Hornet, it is still the most capable aircraft in it's class in the world-and, Australia, through keeping these aircraft in front-line condition for the past 35+ years, have the know how to keep them in front-line service indefinitely, Boeing has insured that the F-111's get retired by 2010 so that they can have at least one other customer apart from the USN!! The Super Hornet cannot, and I repeat CANNOT fill the role the F-111 does so superbly. And for Boeing to say otherwise is nothing but criminal. Boeing needs the contract, they are NOT concerned with an ally's sovereignty. Letting Australia's air supremacy and first strike capability diminish because they need the contract is evil!! Burn in hell Boeing!! Stick to airliners!!!! But then again Airbus have you nailed on that, don't they!!!! reply |
