Walt Cwian, e-mail, 14.08.2016 19:56 I am building this airplane and have the welded frame and trying to construct the front from pictures and from the notebook of information I have from Ed McConnell who welded the frame . Anyone have any additional information,? reply | Terrence I. Murphy, e-mail, 18.02.2012 02:10 All I could find was:
Johnson Twin 60 2pOB; two 32hp Bristol Cherub pusher; span: 28'0" length: 21'0" load: 520# v: 75 /60 /25 range: 480; ff: perhaps a second one was built in 1928, but no records verify this and it might be a re-register or an uncompleted model. Even with two motors, the Twin 60's gas consumption translated into an economical 24mpg. It was destroyed in a crash in June 1927 at Bettis Field, Pittsburgh PA. reply | deaftom, e-mail, 05.04.2011 00:28 There is a good article, including a three-view, on the Johnson FC-2 Twin-60 in the "Journal of the American Aviation Historical Society", Spring 1970, pages 24-26. This may be of some help with your modeling plans. reply | John Braungart, e-mail, 02.04.2011 20:09 I have a drawing by Doug Rolfe which is quite clear and might aid in determining the proportions of this craft. Contact me via email and I'll send you a copy, if you're interested. reply |
