Powered by a 200 h.p. Hispano Suiza engine the MK-1 known as the Rybka (Little Fish) was too heavy for it's floats so larger ones were added. This made the plane too heavy with the result it was unable to get airborne. Mikhelson did fit a wheeled and later a ski undercarriage to it, in the winter of 1923 /24 and the plane did fly, but the powers that be decided against a float plane fighter and so that was that.
