| The Tupolev AIMT-16 or TB-4 was a
super-heavy bomber powered by six 619kW M-34 engines, two of them mounted in tandem above the fuselage. Armament comprised two 20mm cannon and 10 machine-guns, plus a maximum bombload of 10000kg. First flown on 3 July 1933, the TB-4 spanned 54.00m and attained a maximum speed of 200km/h.

| Barry, 01.03.2016 12:24 First flown on 3rd July 1933,and with the test programme completed by that September this behemoth showed disappointing results with the two mounted engines performing badly and the wing mounted engines having a considerable amount of power absorbed by the two meter thick wing. The original concept was that speed would not be a major consideration as it would have sufficient armament to look after itself -as if!
