| Designed by Aleksander Grzedzielski and Augustyn
Bobek-Zdaniewski, the P.W.S.10 single-seat parasol
monoplane fighter was the recipient of an order for two
prototypes in 1929, the first of these flying in May 1930.
Powered by a Skoda-built Lorraine-Dietrich LD 12Eb
engine of 450hp, the P.W.S.10 was of mixed construction
with a wooden wing and steel tube fuselage. Armament consisted of two 7.7mm Vickers guns. A
contract was placed for 80 aircraft with deliveries commencing
in the second half of 1931. Rather difficult to fly
and never popular with its pilots, the P.W.S.10 was progressively
withdrawn from 1933, but 20 reconditioned
examples were sold to the Spanish Nationalist forces in
1936. Because of their inadequate performance they
were restricted to the training role.
