Gil Gregg, e-mail, 17.11.2008 00:55 I have what seems like a Fokker Aircraft Co. paperweight. It is made of brass, has 8 sides, and I think has a Fokker F.32 aircraft on it. Here is a link to a picture I took of it. Take a look at it and tell me what you think. Thanks. i245.photobucket.com /albums /gg53 /gregg31686 /IMG_0797.jpg reply | Jan B. Peyrot, e-mail, 09.01.2008 16:01 I understand the plane gave good service flying non-stop from Glendale to Oakland, but did not have enough altitude capability to fly acros the Rockies. A grease fitting came loose when the metal prop send it through the fuselage and hit a passenger in the leg. The steward fixed it with a bandaid. reply | Arjan van Haren, e-mail, 09.08.2007 20:21 The F-32 was a Fokker Aircraft built in the US. No F-32's ever landed in The Netherlands. It was a 4 engined aircraft. The engines where mounted in tandem under the wing. 2 puscher engines and 2 pull. The engines where a weak spot because no good solution was ever found for cooling problems of the aft engines. It was called F-32 because it could carry 32 passengers. It was for publicity reasons. It should have been called F-12. However there already was a F-12 in the Netherlands. 5 where built for Western Air Express where they flew for several years and they where reliable and gave good performance. The US Army Airforce tested a cargo variant called YC 20. No orders where placed however. Fokker himself used a F-32 in the US as privat aircraft. 10 where built in total
