The early models flown in the Fourth Challenge de Tourisme International of 1934 performed quite poorly. In fact after one of the six machines crashed in practise the German team manager wanted them all withdrawn. The reason that they under performed was that they were all metal monoplanes and the the Bf108A was hopelessly under powered by the 225h.p. Hirth HM8U engine. However, the much improved 'B' model went on to much better things with a total of 885 being built at Augsburg, Regensburg and latterly at the SNCAN factory at Les Mureaux near Paris. A further 285 were built post war as the Nord Pingouin series. Powered by a 240h.p. Renault 60-10, or later the Renault 60-11 there are still some flying today both the Nord and the original Messerschmitt aeroplane.

For the Gentleman looking for higher definition detail drawing of the 108, go to the link below and click on "Plans and parts", and then go to page 8 (if it's not there, keep looking), and you will see plans for an RC version of the 108. The plans cost about $25.00 US and come out of England. Hope this helps.
