| These light transports were derived from the earlier F13. Indeed the prototype was a converted F13 with a lengthened fuselage and more powerful engine, but with the fixed undercarriage retained. The W33 and W34 came in ski and float versions and copious other variants. There were nearly 200 W33s built, but the W34 totalled nearly 1800 examples, which were extensively used by civil operators. A total of 900 saw service with the Luftwaffe as trainers and transports during World War II. A W33 made the first east-west Atlantic crossing in 1928 from Dublin to Labrador.

| Barry, 18.08.2016 14:50 A further development was the Ju 46, which was a strengthened improvement of the W34 for use as a catapult mail plane on the NDL liners Bremen and Europa. Five were built, some with wheeled undercarriage, but those for catapult use had floats. In addition they were painted red for easy identification should they ditch in the sea.The last to survive was probably one which was sold to Syndicato Condor Ltda in Brazil that was registered PP-CBK and crashed at Rio das Contas on 10th June 1945. reply | | Johan Runfeldt, 01.05.2014 15:35 Served as the basis for the bomber /military transport K43.
