No production figures have ever been found for the He72, but it is fair to say that it was produced in some numbers. Originally flown with an Argus 8B in line engine, it was not untill the definitive He72B-1 was produced that the Siemens Sh 14A 7 cylider radial was installed. Some 30 of the similar He72B-3 were marketed for civil use as the Edelkadett and featured a luggage locker in the rear cockpit.
