In its twin-float reconnaissance configuration for catapulting from warships, it remained in service until 1939. It was replaced by the Arado Ar 196. Maximum level speed was 225km/h.

Barry, 30.01.2013 17:57 Designed by Rheinhold Mewes, the designer of the He59, the early He60 was found to be lacking in performance so the BMW VI was replaced with a more powerful 750h.p. engine which did little to alleviate the problem. As rightly noted the He60 was replaced by the far more capable Ar196.
