| Barry, 11.01.2011 18:31 2400 Beauforts were produced of which 700 were manufactured in Australia which could be identified by having a larger fin. The difficulty of shipping the Taurus engine to Australia led to the RAAF aircraft being fitted with 1200 h.p. Pratt and Whitney Twin Wasp engines which were locally produced. In fact some U.K. Beauforts had this engine and the MkII was even fitted with Rolls Royce Merlin engines before reverting to the more than capable Taurus.
Please note I think there is an error in the dimensions noted above in that the wing span should be 57ft 10in and the length 44ft 2in.
