Flew Ceres for Les Ward at Cootamundra in the 1970s. Great little aeroplane and maybe the best spray-platform there ever was!

I made a typo it was Roy Goon as the test pilot.

I thought it was the summer of 1957!! All of the test flying was out of the Fishermans Bend Aerodrome, And Ron Goon was the test pilot. It was very nice to see and hear at low level down at that end on the Yarra River.

Thank you M. Simspson! I was wondering what this aircraft was built for, and crop-dusting was probably one of my top thoughts.

The CA-28 agricultural aircraft was designed around components of the wartime Wirraway. It first flew in the southern summer of 1958. Basically a single-seater, it also had a rear-facing seat behind the pilot for ferrying. There was a 40 cu.ft. hopper forward of the pilot. No hydraulic or electrical systems; leading edge slats; manually operated flaps. 14 a /c registered in Oz, 5 in NZ in the early 1960's. One 600h.p. P&W R-1340.
